To achieve perfect harmony, time is everything – rejoice in this elevation of the beloved aroma.
An iteration of Amouage’s iconic scent, Interlude 53 Man is a reflection on the power of time – six months of slow transformation at the label’s Muscat factory brings its exquisite character, and 53% perfume oil concentration to life.
This intense rendition sees signature notes including zesty bergamot, oregano and pimento berry oil unfold like never before, while new additions reveal a deeper aroma that will accompany you through the years.
What makes Interlude 53 Man an “Exceptional Extrait”?
A fragrance is usually a mix of a concentrate (containing fragrant oils) and an alcoholic base. Some fragrances can also contain a bit of water and additives like liquid UV filters, stabilizers or colourants. Therefore, fragrances with a higher fragrance concentration contain more perfume oils and less alcohol, and vice-versa.
Usually, a higher perfume oil concentration means an increased performance of the fragrance (particularly longer lasting scent) – but the impact of oil concentration is much more complex and varies depending on each formula.
Eau de Cologne (EDC) 3% – 10% oils
Eau de Toilette (EDT) 5% – 15% oils
Eau de Parfum (EDP) 15% – 20% oils
Parfum / Extrait 20% – 30% oils
Amouage Interlude 53 Man – 53% exceptional oils
About
Amouage is the brainchild of Qaboos Bin Said, the Sultan of Oman. He gave the order in 1983 to launch a perfume brand that captures, protects and preserves Oman’s age-old perfumery traditions. Amouage means “wave” in Arabic. The name was also chosen because of its uncanny resemblance to the French word for love, “Amour”. The flamboyant Christopher Chong, a former opera singer, is the creative director of Amouage. The design and fragrances are based on the culture of the Gulf States. Refinement and exclusivity are top priorities for this brand. In addition, it is one of the most expensive perfume brands in the world. Amouage has also produced a range of bath products, scented candles, room sprays and a collection of leather garments that are made (by hand) in Florence.
