The pigment

Throughout the Mediterranean Basin, and since the 2nd millennium before our era, the roots of MADDER -Rubia Tinctorum- are used for their strong tinctorial power and their incredible medicinal properties. A true ancestral beauty ritual, Queens and Empresses painted their complexions and their lips with these pigments with infinite variations of red.

Application

The tinted balm can be applied with your finger for a natural finish, or with a lip brush, for a more precise application. Take a small amount and apply directly to your lips, working from the center outwards. Lightly tap or press your lips together to help the colour set. Its flexible coverage adapts to your style and preferences. A single swipe delivers a subtle tint with a ‘bitten lip’ effect. For a more intense result, layer as needed until you achieve your desired finish.
